Clothing for the larger cyclist...

Natural born cyclists are usually wafer thin and so the cycling industry produces clothing to fit that shape. XL is more like a medium and many brands don’t produce bigger than that. Therefore people like me who break the mould struggle and wear allsorts of gear not normally seen on a bike.

To date I’ve done a good job of ignoring this issue and finding ways to get around it but of late I’ve been getting a little restless. In my search of larger cycling clothing I came across this thread on a forum which discusses the issue and provides links to retailers who carry larger sized stock. Looks good and I think I shall shortly be ordering a piece or two from a link provided (Aerotech Designs). Here’s the link to the discussion if you like me and are an XXXL cyclist ;-)

Very good point! I think it probably applies to most sports wear too. Finding wide fit trainers is going to be my own challenge shortly, I haven't had a pair that doesn't pinch my feet at the sides for years!

I struggle to buy clothes, let alone specialist clothes for cycling! The downside when you do find somewhere that sells what you want is that you usually have to buy mail order and can't try before hand.
