Encouraging news...

On a weight loss & fitness front it’s been a very encouraging day. First of all I took a walk up Slieve Croob and was very impressed by how I physically responded. There was no sore feet, no sore knees and my heart rate and breathing were in a far better position than I expected them to be. Perhaps I’ve caught up with the fitness I lost over the summer, it even felt like I had surpassed it a bit.

Secondly I am delighted to announce that I’ve dropped a jean size down to a 36” waist. To think when I started 15 or so months ago I had a 44” waste. I’m chuffed.

The timing of both pieces of news is particularly good as yesterday I eat like a Hippo. I’m still very aware that for me food = comfort and at times I’m literally driven towards food. Will this ever go or will it always be something I have to wrestle with and manage? Truth be told but I’d rather manage it than ignore it which is what I’ve done for years.

That's excellent news! Keep up the good work and you'll soon be at the level you want to be.

You talk about how you have been managing food..have you talked to a dietician? Maybe you could get some helpful information about how to work on eating better and feeling full?

Peter, you will have done yep. I've ridden with him a fair few times now, more notably on the Manchester 100.
