Moving on...

This week has seen my return to the gym. My eating is still up the left but for the first time since in 6 weeks I’ve exercised. I’m disappointed with myself because if I’m honest one of the biggest things that got in my way (yet again) was impatience. I grew frustrated with losing 1-2lbs a week and I pushed too hard on the exercise front. I burst my boiler (see the post a few below) and burnt out. This was a silly mistake. Ironically I’m now frustrated with the fact that I’m a further 6 weeks away from hitting my target and I’m over half a stone heavier. Yet I recognise that I need to stop beating myself up and get my feet on level ground again.

Ironically my course (Dip HE in Counselling) now demands that we all get 20 hours of personal therapy. No doubt I’ll bring these issues to the table.

I've also stopped thinking about time lined targets, lets stick with 1-2lbs a week.

Hi Pete,

I'm with you, also VERY impatient with loosing 1-2lbs a week!

I also went AWOL over the last 5 weeks, eating loads and exercising none, the result of which was an additional 7lbs :-(

But I've picked myself up, dusted myself off and I'm back on form. I lost 3lbs last week and I can really fell it!

I love to run, but getting up at 5am and running the tow path from Gilford to Portadown was just too scary so I've bought myself a treadmill and it's FAB! The hardest bit it getting up when the alarm goes off at 5.30am but once I'm up and on the treadmill, that's it and I enjoy it, plus it's all done by the time I go to work :-)

I guess it's all about changing habits and having been a poor eater with a none existent exercise regime for 31 yrs, it's not surprising that I went back to my old ways. But it's about making a choice, do I want to go back to the way I was? NO! So I just need to be persistent until my 'new' habits become stronger.

Keep going Pete!
