Pointers along the way...

Last week I was having a yarn with a bro who is full on for his faith and whom I deeply respect. There are not too many followers you can say this about buts it’s my estimation that there is not too many inches of his life given over to anything other than the Lord. He travels around the world to facilitate his calling in a quiet and humble way and when home is involved in late night work. I was discussing with him how tired I have been lately and how the weekly late night prayer gatherings of “More…” were leaving me exhausted the next day. He encouraged me by sharing that it’s the main reason why he trains. Obviously he does it to enjoy the health benefits but more specifically so that he can keep up with the physical demands ministry makes on his body. I found this an interesting slant which I had overlooked. So with a little more focus I’ve realised that I’m not just loosing weight to be healthier. Nor to solely extend my life expectation or look good (well better) but more that I can serve my Lord more diligently. Sound motivation indeed!!

My Blood pressure…
Seems it highness can be put down to stress and fatigue. My blood pressure was lower yesterday than last weeks reading however he wants to observe it for the next month or so. My doctor also got the nurse to take 3 blood samples to screen for a variety of things such as diabetes, anaemia, cholesterol level, kidney and/or liver malfunction and an inactive thyroid. He topped it all of with a talk on the dangers of obesity and the shocking reality that if my blood pressure remains at the level it is it may mean that he will have to put me on tablets for life. It may have been scare tactics but I’ll not take the risk! More motivation for me should there have been any shortage. Thanks to all who have been praying.

Two out of three…
Took my bike out today which means whilst it’s only Wednesday I have two of my three exercise sessions covered. Happy days!
