Today I went for a 40 minute walk. I enjoyed it however it did illustrate just how out of shape I am. My ankles were killing me during it, never mind the dizzy feeling after it. That said it did bring back to me the importance of setting goals. Within all the jobs I have had so far as a youth worker my role was to envision people to take on a challenge, harness their energy, get them to set targets and then to effectively evaluate along the journey. Putting this into action in my personal life is not a new thought, in fact its something I’ve tried to do and failed at many times. I do but believe in its importance and so for now I’m going to set myself the target of three 40 minute walks this week and to avoid eating Ice cream and anything after 8pm.
